SCARBOROUGH STEP BY STEP PROGRAM
The Scarborough Step By Step Supportive Housing Program provides rent-subsidized accommodation and support to people living with mental health challenges in the Scarborough community. Each tenant occupies his/her our apartment or housing unit.

MENTAL HEALTH CASE MANAGEMENT
The Mental Health Case Management service provides individualized support to clients living with a serious mental illness in the City of Toronto (inclusive of Etobicoke, Scarborough, North York and downtown Toronto).

GERIATRIC MENTAL HEALTH CASE MANAGEMENT
COTA Health’s Geriatric Mental Health (GMH) Case Management service provides individualized support to clients living with age-related dementia, and clients over age 65 living with a serious mental illness. This service is available in Etobicoke, North York, Scarborough and downtown Toronto

MENTAL HEALTH & JUSTICE SERVICES:

MENTAL HEALTH & JUSTICE SUPPORTIVE HOUSING
The Mental Health & Justice supportive housing program provides rent-subsidized housing and support to people with mental illness who are homeless and are involved, or are at significant risk of involvement with the justice system. Tenants of this program occupy individual apartment units in locations throughout Scarborough and North York.

SHORT-TERM RESIDENTIAL BEDS (SCARBOROUGH)
COTA Health operates 13 short-term residential beds out of one location in Scarborough. All beds are available to men and women living with a serious mental illness.

YMCA Youth Substance Abuse Program (YSAP)

WHO WE SERVE:

· Anyone between the ages of 14 and 24 seeking support related to substance use.

WHAT WE PROVIDE:

· Free and confidential counselling from a Harm Reduction perspective, we neither condemn nor condone substance use.

· During individual counselling sessions clients typically work with a counsellor for about an hour, once a week to address personally identified goals around substance use (including but not limited to: reduce or stop using, learn about risks and harms of substance use, referral to residential treatment, etc)

· Assessment tools and referrals

· Presentations, workshops and outreach for youth, parents, and service providers to increase awareness of substance use, safety and harm reduction. These can be tailored to specific needs of a group.

· All services are free of charge, funded by the Ministry of Health and Long-term Care.

YMCA YOUTH GAMBLING AWARENESS PROGRAM

WHO WE SERVE:

18 Communities across the province of Ontario and 2 in Nova Scotia

GOAL:
To implement educational prevention programs designed to raise youth awareness with regards to gambling, healthy/active living and making informed decisions.

WHAT DO WE DO IN YOUR COMMUNITY:

Awareness Raising Activities:
* Deliver interactive sessions for youth ages 8-24
* Provide interactive sessions for adults involved in young people's lives
* Offer curriculum activities based on Ministry of Education requirements
* Attend community fairs/events

Community Involvement:
Plan and implement events designed to promote community awareness and involvement in issues related to youth gambling

Youth Engagement:
Facilitate youth driven initiatives to promote youth expression and community action related to youth gambling.

PHILOSOPHY
* The YMCA does not make value judgments regarding gambling; rather we see it as an activity that people may or may not choose to engage in.
