Manager
Initial Assignment: Metro Addiction Assessment and Referral Service (MAARS) and Scarborough Addictions Services Partnership (SASP)
Position Description:
The Addictions Program is currently recruiting a Manager for the Metro Addiction Assessment and Referral Service (MAARS) and the Scarborough Addiction Services Partnership (SASP). Reporting to the Administrative and Clinical Directors of the Addictions Program as well as to the Community Chair of SASP, the Manager will work to ensure that excellence in client service is achieved at MAARS and access to addiction services for residents in Scarborough is enhanced by providing support to innovative and novel projects and partnerships that support client care, community & professional education within the Scarborough community. Responsibilities include: financial, contract and human resource management; oversight of clinical services provided by MAARS; community engagement and development activities related to the SASP partnership; operational support to SASP activities (co-ordination of meetings etc). The successful candidate will also be responsible for leading and implementing continuous quality improvement and program development initiatives, participating in CAMH-wide initiatives, and development of, and adherence to, CAMH policies and procedures as well as effective resource management. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will possess a Master’s degree in Nursing, Social Work, Psychology, or a related discipline, with at least 3 to 4 years of management experience in the addictions field and/or community development, or have an equivalent combination of education and experience in related fields. Knowledge of the addiction treatment system, particularly in the GTA and Scarborough, as well as addiction assessment processes, data collection methods, and referral procedures, as well as specific knowledge of the interface between cultural and social location and the treatment systems specific to Scarborough, are an asset. Operational knowledge related to financial, human resource and contract management is considered an asset. The capacity to provide leadership to a multidisciplinary team is required, as is the ability to lead change and build relationships and partnerships with community and external stakeholders. Strong understanding of issues related to anti-racism/diversity and training/experience in cultural competency is required. Knowledge of evaluation processes and data management are necessary skills. Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, and high computer proficiency are necessary, along with the ability to work in a dynamic, community-based, and changing environment. This role encompasses two different, but collaborative, areas of responsibility. Ability to manage diverse stakeholder perspectives, strong negotiation, conflict management skills and an ability to set priorities and utilize excellent time management skills will contribute to the success of the selected candidate. Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset.
